I love finding something different within the paranormal romance genre, Born into Fire mixes an ancient Elemental race with a race of dragon shifters in this interesting erotic romance. There is also a bit of humor too. I loved the many “blow” puns.

Kenna is a glass blower with a witty sense of humor and she lets it show with some of her many “blow” jokes. Kenna also has no clue that she is different from every other human amongst her. She is approaching her metamorphose and it has called the attention of two other Elementals.  One wishes to protect her from harm and see her through her metamorphose. The other wishes to see her through her metamorphose so that he may cause her harm.

Eric has stayed away from female Elementals for many years. He is trying to ensure that he doesn’t repeat his past mistakes. Kenna’s fire calls to him and his air and he can’t help but seek her out. The moment that he sees the other Elemental and discovers his nefarious plans he feels obligated to see her safely through her metamorphose.  Eric must protect her from not only the other Elemental but also himself.

The sexual attraction is high, the sex scenes are plentiful and amazingly erotic. I loved the fact that Eric and Kenna could bond sexually outside of their human form. The sex scenes are so hot that they literally melt their surroundings.

I also enjoyed the details about glass blowing as art. The authors put many interesting details about Kenna’s art/career in these pages. The details for some of her pieces of art are meticulously detailed. I could almost see some of the pieces as I was reading. 

I hope that there will be another book that continues from Born into Fire. I was left with some unanswered questions. There are a couple of large gray areas for me also. I don’t want to go into too many details on this because I don’t want to let out the spoilers that it would bring to this review.

Labyrinth has so many fantastic elements. They are combined in this tale of murder mystery, a broken friendship, and a woman caught between two men she loves. Readers are given a world where a cursed lord still haunts his castle, trying to free himself from the curse that has trapped him for centuries. Females who stay in this haunted castle have erotic dreams that have the potential to become deadly. Voodoo, magic and de je vu keep cropping up to hinder the former deputy sheriff from getting to the bottom of her cousin’s murder.

Margot knows deep down that Cat is a black widow eagerly looking for her next victim. Margot finds it impossible to deny the invitation that Cat presents to her. Margot leaves backwater Mississippi and her job as a deputy sheriff to go on a journey to Scotland to prove once and for all that Cat is a murderer. What she ultimately discovers is hauntings, magic and love.

I find it difficult to not give spoilers. This is a twisty tale that surprised me on more than one occasion. Cat is a sneaky woman with many tricks up her sleeve. She has a larger goal in mind than Margot ever thought possible. The castle and its legendary history are captivating. The painting of the castle and what it actually is adds mystique to this magical tale.

The sex scenes dream and otherwise are tastefully erotic. I found myself not sure who I wanted Margot to get her happily ever after with. I found that I wanted both men to get their happily ever after with Margot. The problem with that outcome was the fact that this was not a ménage.

Amazingly perfect happily ever after ending! I was so tempted to skim the ending. I felt something big approaching and I saw the potential for it to go frustratingly horribly wrong. I didn’t want it to go in that direction and it easily could have happened. It didn’t. Tarah put the absolute best ending into this story.

Some short novellas really impress me with the amount of plot, sex, and build up into a climatic ending that can creatively be put into so few pages and not feel rushed or pushed. Waters and Scott did that successfully with Double Bang.

Sara works at an import company. She is good at her job. She is so good at what she does that she notices a network breech that should have never been noticed. In her haste to shut down the breech and notify her employer she walks right into the arms of the co-worker she secretly lusts after.

Devon has spent months on his current operation. The beautiful and sharply intelligent Sara is about to blow it all. She has discovered some of what he is really doing while working for the export company. In an effort to keep her from informing anyone of his doings he must remove her from the picture. How better to do that than to take her to his hotel room where his partner can meet with them?

 Sara soon realizes that things are very different that she initially expected and now she is stuck in a hotel room with her office crush and her sexy neighbor. Sara, Rigg and Devon have no problems figuring out ways to pass the time.

The title implies exactly what Sara is in for and wow do Rigg and Devon scorch the pages in their delivery. This short novella definitely fits in to the erotic category. The sex isn’t meaningless. The characters have a history and an attraction that has led them to this place in time. Readers get some hot moments between this trio.

There was a different happily after ending. I haven’t read this type before so it was new. Don’t get me wrong there was a happily ever after, but it was different than I expected. It was not disappointing, I just saw something different coming.
