I loved Canyon! His heart manages to be bigger than he is. Canyon is kind and loving and beyond patient. He is not a perfect man. I can’t say he’s flawed, but he is far from your perfect main male character in a book. He’s made some relationship decisions in his past that hurt someone, but he also got hurt too.

The romance between Canyon and Simon was slow and very sweet. Canyon is mourning the loss of the man he loved. Simon has known too much heartache so he is weary of letting someone in when he knows they will just leave him when he becomes too much of a hassle. Canyon is with Simon over a couple of months, so there is no insta-love. I always fear the insta-love of novellas. The fact that Canyon wants a husband more than he wants anything else in his life is so sweet. Unlike all of the other romances I read, there are no sex scenes in this book.

I can easily see where some may have some discomfort issues with Who Better Than Canyon. The first and only chapter involves Natalie, Robert the deceased lovers’ wife. Robert cheated on his wife with Canyon and Simon. Shame on Robert for doing this, shame on Natalie for not doing something about it, it has little to do with the sweet romance to be found in the pages of this book. It was something I easily swept out of my mind. The infidelity was not a new thing between Natalie and Robert, nor was it for a short period of time.

I will definitely read more books by DC Juris. I like the story the author told. I loved the characters that were created. I am curious to find what else the author has out that will interest me the way this one did.

***Simon drives a Jeep!***

  1. Thanks very much for this lovely review! I'm truly glad you enjoyed Canyon and SImon's story. And yes - LOL - he *does* drive a Jeep! Come to think of it, several of my characters drive Jeeps! We had one several years ago, and I simply adored it. I miss it very much! Must be why I use it in my stories - living vicariously through my boys! LOL Thank you again!!!!
