Jamie is not in denial about the fact that he is a total
stray magnet. It goes all the way back to pets he brought home as a child. The
strays he brings home now though are in the form of needy men who always seem
to be looking over their shoulders for someone other than him. He never
expected the little lost merman that he meets on Lake Washington to follow him
home. He just assumed it would be a one-time tryst and they would go on their separate
ways.
Marin has always wanted a man. The society he was raised in
has strictly forbidden it though. In fact that society has arranged for him to
have a female mate. He loves Sally, like a sister. He would also do anything
for her. He even takes her advice when she tells him to go to the human plane
and find himself a male.
I really liked Jamie and Marin. They worked together as a
couple for me. Jamie knows that he has a weakness for strays. He really tries
hard to get the merman off of his boat, but Marin has some touching issues.
Marin can’t keep his hands off of Jamie. He wants him, now, anyway he can get
him! This in turn makes Jamie want Marin just as much. Marin has lived on an
alternate plane. He doesn’t always understand Jamie and Jamie’s way of life.
This makes for highly entertaining reading. The really hot sex scenes also make
for an erotic tale that makes you want to take boating trips as often as
possible.
