Great start to what appears to be an interesting paranormal romance series. Roth has created a group of natural born, lab created and genetically modified and bitten shifters. They are a special ops team that has dedicated their life to protecting the supernatural races.

Lukian, the team Captain, a natural born wolf shifter (and so much more) has always followed his instincts when on a mission. His instincts are telling him that something is off with the current assignment.

Peren has found herself on one of the endless set up night out with her friends. Missy and Mel only want to see her back in the dating scene. The men that they have found this time ooze alpha and danger. Peren flees Lukian and the bar only to stumble right into his arms and life.

I liked the mix of paranormal beings. Readers are given weres, vamps and fae.  Many of the characters are a mixture of various supernatural components, having been created in a lab for the purposes of super ops. They are the I-Ops team.  For the length of this novella there is a ton of action! The fighting and running and protecting keep the tension levels way up.

The sex scenes border on erotic, which is a good thing. I do love smutty sex scenes at times. Immortal Ops is a highly sexed paranormal romance. Lukain’s claiming of his mate is a very raw, carnal, highly erotic scene.

Throughout the novella readers are given snippets of the other team members, who will get their own books. The guys have some highly animated personalities and I am looking forward to how they flesh out in their own books.

  1. First: Kudos to the cover for showing a man with chest hair. I don't think shifters should be without hair!

I might actually have to pick this one up! I do love my shifters even though right now I am not in a paranormal mood.
