Brandon Stevenson has quickly become Lucy’s favorite hockey player. She attends every game just to watch him. Little does she know that he watches her from the ice. Brandon decides he’s tired of just watching, he needs to meet her. When Lucy sees Brandon walk into her bar she knows that she will be able to enjoy one night with the man, after all he is human (he is right?) and can know nothing of her world.

I truly believe this is one of the sexiest books I have read in a long time. Lucy and Brandon have an intensely passionate sexual relationship. They really burn up the pages. Julian has included some amazingly hot sex scenes in How to Worship a Goddess. They have an intimate connection from the very beginning.

I also like the history/series/world lesson that was involved. Julian’s Etruscan world is fascinating. I’ve read several of her series and have picked up numerous intriguing details about it. The characters in this book explain so much of their world while welcoming Brandon into it. I enjoyed the way Julian worked all this information in, while showing her characters bonding to the new person in their lives. This also made the secondary characters flesh out to people one could easily imagine sitting at a bar having a few beers with.

How to Worship a Goddess takes place in Julian’s lucani world. I have not read her Lucani Lovers series. I will definitely read it shortly. Readers who have read the series will see many characters from those books. People like me will run out and by those books due to the curiosity of needing to know them better.
