I enjoy audio books for long road trips. My friend Felicia at Geeky Blogger's Book Blog recommended this one. I told her I needed one that my husband would also enjoy. He does not read anything but automotive magazines. I figured nothing would interest him. It took a couple of CD’s into this audio adventure, but he enjoyed Hounded enough that he wants to move on to the next book/set of CD’s. (This audio adventure has also got him curious about other audio books. I feel like a mama that has finally gotten her child to take an interest in reading.)

I enjoyed Atticus’s tale. He’s an extremely old Druid who is in possession of a magical sword that someone else wants. This someone is prepared to stop at nothing in his attempts to get this magical sword. Readers/listeners are given small flashbacks of Atticus’s very long life that tie into the current happenings of his present day life. Atticus has a great personality that has the perfect mix of humor, snark and easy going attitude surrounded by self-preservation. Atticus was a great character to follow through this tale. I loved his friends and LOVED his talking Irish wolfhound Oberon. Oberon provided a ton of unexpected comedy.    

Luke Daniel’s does a marvelous job of narrating this tale. I think the audio helped me enjoy this book more than I would have had I been reading the print version of Hounded. I do not read fae based urban fantasy due to the words. I can’t pronounce them and it frustrates me. Zero frustration between these CD’s. Daniels has taken care of the pronunciation of all of the words that I would have butchered into new words most likely with new and very different meanings.
