Review: A Demon and His Psycho by Eve Langlais

eBook, 140 pages per Kindle
Expected publication: August 1st 2012
ISBN 13: 9781927459089
Source: Author, for the purpose of an honest review
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Welcome To Hell, book #2
Best read in order: no, each works as a stand alone
Stars: 5
Flames: 4

I love this series! I love the thought that Lucifer is playing matchmaker to add numbers to his army. I love the couples that Eve creates. I love the situations that she puts them in to put them together. I enjoy the quirkiness that makes what would seem like a dark book into a humorous read.

Katie is krazy. She not only loves her job as executioner, a job that she excels at, she lives for it. It helps her with her anger issues, which she has plenty of. Katie is not just a little off, she is way out there. Meds to treat psychosis were developed with her in mind. She is also the polar opposite of Xaphan, and the woman that landed him in Hell to begin with.

Xaphan is a touch grouchy. He is used to working alone on the mortal plane. Lucifer has decided to give him a partner for his current job, to add insult to injury Lucifer has sent him on a job to find a missing pet. The perky barely dressed blonde starts off as an annoying chatterbox, she turns into a temptress that he cannot keep his mind off of. The things that she makes him want to do to her forces him to question his loyalty to a vow he made three hundred years ago to another.

Xaphan shows Katie something she has never experienced before, descent man. Katie believes all men are selfish pigs. Xaphan is different from everything she has ever known about males. Katie makes Xaphan think and feel things he didn’t know he was capable of. She also tries his patience and makes his question his own sanity. All in all this makes for a fantastically great book.

I can easily visualize Lucifer in a fancy suit kicked back in his office, mischievous gleam in his eyes, rubbing his hands together, head thrown back and laughing at his skills when it comes to pairing his employees.

My only complaint is that the guy on the cover is wearing entirely too much clothing.

Favorite quote:
Katie to Xaphan, “Til death do us part?”
Xaphan to Katie, “Fuck that. I’ll follow you in whatever afterlife there is for demons and psychos.”

Review & Giveaway: A Demon and His Witch by Eve Langlais

eBook, 139 pages
Expected publication: June 10th 2012
ISBN 13: 9781927459034
Source: Author, for the purpose of an honest review
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Welcome to Hell, book #1
Stars: 5
Flames: 4

I now have a new favorite Eve book. Remy is hilarious. The majority of the things that come out of his mouth should offend. Remy somehow makes crude sexual innuendos at the most inappropriate moments consistently. He does this in a manner that it’s funny and he never presents himself as obnoxious. Ysabel has a snarky retort for everything he says. The banter they toss back and forth had me laughing throughout the entire book. A Demon and His Witch needs to be added to your must read list, immediately.

Ysabel has some much expected trust issues. After her last lover stood by and watched her while she burned at the stake she knows all men are scum. Remy knows he has mad skills in the bedroom. He wants the share these skills with all who will welcome him. Ysabel just thinks he is a demon-whore and she just wants to get the job he is assisting her with done as quickly as possible. The problem is the barbs they are tossing each other are just fueling the attraction. I also have to point out that when these two finally give in, oh my hot, hot, hot.

I also enjoyed Lucifer. I love how Eve wrote him. I also found out he is the same Lucifer from her Princess of Hell series. I may have to run off and read those now. He dresses in a business suit, stresses over his golf scores, and meddles in the personal lives of his minions. He also has a respectful fear of his personal assistant.

The second book in this series, A Demon and His Psycho is expected out in August.

Favorite quote: Ysabel and Remmy
Ysabel “You’re impossible.”
Remy “No, totally possible, and unforgettable.
