Sebastian Grayson is a well know New York celebrity chef. He is also a
Star Harbor native. His restaurant, television show, and opening of another restaurant
keeps him from visiting Star Harbor often, but he always returns once a year to
visit his brothers on the anniversary of their father’s death. He is also very
cocky, a bit conceded, and overly competent.
Lexie Meyers is fairly new to Star Harbor. She has her own restaurant there
and has done a wonderful job of integrating herself into the town that she now
calls home. She is also in the process of starting her own catering business. Lexie is a lady with some secrets that are
about to cause her a great deal of trouble. Lexie’s life is a series of disastrous
train wrecks. There was just entirely too much drama surrounding her life. It
became distracting.
I felt that Lexie and Seb were so busy with their careers that they did
not have time for their romance. Seb and Lexie interact with the other
characters in Deep Autumn Heat more
than they do each other. They also spend more time apart than they do together.
Lexie and Seb worked as a couple for me, but I really needed more romance and
interaction between them. The sexual tension between them was great, the sex
scenes were hot, but I was left wanting more romance.
I will be moving on with this series. I am very curious about the
Grayson brothers, Star Harbor, and how the legend of the Siren Lorelei will
play into each book. I enjoyed the setting and all of the characters. I think
each of the Grayson brothers will have a great story to tell. I of course have
to read Theo and Blaze of Winter. I
am a sucker for a sexy man who drives a Jeep.
This sounds like a contemporary series that I would like. I think I would miss the interaction between the main couple too but it does sound like a great basis for a series.
