Creed comes from a future that I want no part of. The government has
figured out a way to efficiently lower crime rate and a proficient way to
control population numbers. The government has even created a group of
enforcers to make sure that individuals take the prescribed meds. Creed is one
of these enforcers. His latest target has jumped through time in an effort to
evade him. Creed is the best at chasing the rebels that refuse to abide by the
rules that make the future so controlled.
Shayla is shocked to find two men arguing in her front yard. She is
even more terrified when one attacks her, leaving the other bleeding on her
front porch. What she doesn’t know is that the one who attacked her has not
really injured the other, but served him with a dose of reality. The implant
that keeps the population of the future so controlled has been rendered useless
in Creed and he is now trapped in a time where he cannot acquire more.
I loved the fact that Creed had his eyes opened that his time is not as
perfect as he assumed. He is stuck in a past that is very different from his
time. Shayla tries to help the stranded stranger even though she is convinced
that he is crazy. Their time together makes him share more and more details of
who he is and how he has lived. This gets Shayla’s curiosity piqued and she can’t
help herself when it comes to assisting this sexy stranded stranger with the
new desires that he is experiencing.
Passion Awakened is a great
book, with minimal sci fi/futuristic components. Creed has traveled into the
past to catch a fugitive. His past is (Shayla’s) our present day. The book is
set in 2012. So if you ever thought you may want to give time travel books a
try but didn’t want to read a book set in the future or the past this would be
a perfect starting point. The futuristic aspect will not lose any reader with
too much technical jargon.
Love time travels. This is a unique spin, though.
ReplyDeleteI like time travels. I've found it is one of the few ways that I can handle a "historical." I do love reading a character who is out of there element though. So someone from the past in present time or someone from the future who goes back to a time that is not a technologically advanced is always a fun read!
DeleteThis sounds unique I don't think I have ever read one where the travel back is to now...
