VBT: Master's Hunt by Verity Ant Guest Post and Tour Giveaway

I am excited to announce that we have a Diva here with us today to share an excerpt from her book with us. She is also offering a tour wide giveaway at the end. So let's give a warm Diva welcome to Verity Ant!

Excerpt from Master's Hunt by Verity Ant
Still, it was sometimes uncomfortable being one of two women in Kevin’s life. Amiko loved Renee, but would never consider making a life with her alone. She also loved Kevin, and although she sometimes dreamed about having him all to herself, she knew it wasn’t a practical consideration. His sadistic needs were just too great for one woman to bear. They all needed each other, each in his or her own way.
Ami stepped out of the Master’s new black Hummer and approached the glittering home of some Hollywood studio head or hedge fund manager. She straightened her silver serpentine mini-dress, and clutched her Jimmy Choo purse firmly. Her smile was artless as Master came around and put his hand on her waist to guide her up the walk.
For a while, they circulated among tight little social groups. They mingled, networked,  and drank the expensive liquor of their host and hostess. Then they migrated apart for a time, Master becoming embroiled in some discussion of economic theory, while Renee smiled and nodded with a couple from Miami.
The air, while very warm, was soft outside, and Amiko found her way to a back deck where there was an exquisite view of the San Fernando Valley. She soaked it up for a few minutes in the relative quiet of gentle background music and humming cicadas.
“I like the way the streets are laid out in grids—long swaths of the evidence of civilization, even in this incredibly uncivilized place.”
Turning slightly, Ami smiled at the woman who approached. “You don’t like Los Angeles?”
Tall and somewhat angular, the woman was perfectly groomed, brown hair carefully highlighted with blonde, figure a little too thin, skin youthfully fresh. It was only the feral glitter of her dark eyes that gave a hint of her age and bitterness. She spoke in accented English. “I loathe L.A.”
“I love it here,” Amiko told her. “The climate is wonderful.”
“The people are liars, and they hate each other. The least disaster has them at each other’s throats and businesses,” said the woman. “But perhaps that’s true everywhere.”
Amiko, somewhat uncomfortable, turned back toward the view. “Perhaps.”
“We’ve met before, my dear.”
That got Ami’s attention again. “We have?”
The woman nodded, her hair moving gently against her gaunt cheeks. “At a party, perhaps two months ago. You are Kevin Watson’s girl, aren’t you?”
Amiko felt a small frown form between her brows, but quickly forced it away. “I’m not sure what you mean.”
“Aren’t you his slave? Along with that redhead. I can’t recall her name.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t remember meeting you. You say it was at a party?”
“You’re being coy. Yes, it was at a party. A private party for a certain set of people. Particular people.”
“Umm. Well, we go to a lot of parties.”
“The three of you go, you mean. I watched him spank you that night. You were exquisite. So tormented.” She paused, eyes intense. “Tearful and beautiful.”
There was a growing knot in Amiko’s belly. Running into another scene person was not unheard of, but it was considered very bad form for an acquaintance to admit knowing another scene person unless by previous consent. For someone who was less than even a casual friend to speak as this woman had was a major breach of protocol.  “Thank you. I really must go find M—Kevin.”
“You can call him Master in front of me.”
“Who are you?”
“Caroline St. Denis. Countess Caroline St. Denis.” She offered her hand to Amiko, who looked at it for a moment then reached out to shake. The older woman’s skin was supple, but thin, once again suggesting her age. Her grip was bony, but she clung to Amiko’s hand longer than was normal, gliding her fingers away from Ami’s palm in a sensual gesture that sent a small frisson of revulsion down the younger woman’s spine.
“Ah, Countess. I don’t remember meeting you. I apologize.”
“Your attention was for him alone, my dear. I understand perfectly.”
Amiko smiled, but she knew that it would look false. She didn’t feel like smiling. She felt like running away.
