Chloe Frost is the caretaker and owner of Winterbloom Bed and
Breakfast. She has been there for years, but until recently she was there with
her grandmother. Since her grandmother has passed she is running the place on
her own.
Jordan Sheppard is stranded in Clearwater, Wyoming when he has some unforeseen
car troubles at the beginning snow fall of what turns into a blizzard. Getting
a room at the nearest place he can check into he finds some unexpected healing
and a home he didn’t know he was looking for.
This is a very short novella. Marissa packs many emotions into these
few pages. Jordan is suffering from a severe case of survivor’s guilt. He even blames
himself for his friend’s death. Chloe just happens to have recently suffered a
great loss herself. She is a friend to him when he needs one and even when he
tries to push her away. The romantic connection is quick, but very sweet.
I recommend this for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance who is
looking for a quick read. This book may be short but it has all the necessary characteristics
for a great romantic book escape.

Excerpt:
Carved right into the side of a mountain, Clearwater,
Wyoming had always received a lot of snow, but this storm would put the most seasoned
residents to a test. It was expected to stall over the area and last four to
five days, dumping up to ten feet of snow.
As she placed the wood next to the fireplace, she didn’t
hear the front door shut and someone call out. Not expecting anyone, she’d
played the radio louder than normal. She wanted to hear it as she worked.
“Ahem.” She jumped to her feet. “Do you always ignore paying
customers?”
The voice was unfamiliar. She gripped a log and was ready to
swing at the intruder.
“I see the hospitality
continues. Are you really prepared to beat away a customer? It would seem to me
you are in need of some as the place is empty.” A man stood in the living-room
doorway. His clothes were rumpled as though he’d slept in them and his voice
harsh with a touch of annoyance.
Bio:
Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, I now
reside about an hour from Washington, D.C. I am a lady who likes to keep busy,
and am always busy doing something. With two different college degrees, I
believe you are never done learning.
Being the first daughter to an avid reader, this gave me the
advantage of learning to read at a young age. Since learning to read I have
always had my nose in a book. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I started
writing down the stories I came up with.
I am blessed with a wonderful supportive husband, Thomas. He
is my other half and allows me to stay home and pursue my writing. My writing
buddies Max (a cocker spaniel) and Dawne (a beagle mix) are always around to
listen to me bounce ideas off them. They might not be able to answer, but they
are helpful in their own ways.
