First of I want to give a big thanks to Erica Pike, Norma Nielsen, and K-Lee Klein for putting this hop together!
This is an issue that on many levels I am ignorant on. I am a heterosexual woman married to a heterosexual man. So this is something that does not directly affect me or anyone in my household, thus there is much that is just unknown to me. This past January I went on my yearly Diva vacation with my friend Marilyn. She brought her son Michael with her. Michael is a 21 year old gay man. Through conversations and my questioning curiosity I learned so much from him. The thing that saddened me the most was child custody after a couple split and hospital visitation rights for next of kin/spouse (not the same sex life partner.) I never would have thought about these things. Like I said they do not affect me, so it is not something I ever considered. Changes need to be made so that homosexual couples have the same rights that I have with my spouse. Changes need to be made for many other reasons too. It seems at this point that any little thing would be better than nothing at all. Needless to say homophobic discrimination is something that I just don't understand and it seems rather pointless. Just let people be happy and be with the one that makes them happy.
