I put off reading this installment of the Immortals After
Dark series for far too long. A fellow blogger/reviewer friend had told me that
the over torture of Regin really ruins the book and made the romance between
her and Declan just seem completely unbelievable. I NEVER saw this or had these
feelings while reading. So I really am kicking myself for letting Regin’s book
get lost in my to be read pile.
I love the Valkyrie’s! Regin has always been one of my
favorite Valkyrie’s to read. She fun, crazy, the Val Hall prankster, she’s the
good time gal. Well her book is filled with so many other sides of her. Through
her berserker’s dreams readers get to go through some of her past, the joys she
has had with her repeatedly reincarnated lover, and we see too many tragedies
as her berserker has died in her arms.
Declan is the newest berserker reincarnate. He is also in
cahoots with the Order and their merciless torture of the Loreans. I’m going to
point out the obvious, there is a huge love hate relationship between Regin and
Declan. He justifies his hatred of all things Lore due to the horrors of his
past. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this males turn around while he was brought
to his knees by the Radiant One.
I loved the new characters that were introduced and I do
hope to see more of them. Brandr and Thaddeus have brought something new to the
Lore. I’m very curious after finding out exactly what Thad is what he will
become as he matures and reaches his immortality. I also hope to see more of
Brandr in future books.
I loved living Aidan’s pasts with Regin through Declan’s
dreams. Those dreams painted the picture of a love that survived so many
centuries and numerous deaths. The love that survived was a sensual bonus to
Dreams of a Dark Warrior. The part where
Regin is telling Declan what she would tell his future reincarnate was so passionate.
Readers can easily see that was a turning point in their precarious relationship.
I’m so glad this book finally worked its way to the top of
Mt Readmore. Now off to read Lothaire! Readers were given so many confounding
pieces of him while reading Dreams of a
Dark Warrior.
Thad was really cute and he's even better in Lothaire's book. I'm really pulling for him to get his own book. Really nice review Vanessa!

I love Kresley Cole. I'm a couple behind in this series. Have fun with Lothaire. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this series and loved this Book! I always say "to each, their own" everyone has different opinions and it's hard to trust a persons judgment. So I'm damn happy and clapping that you gave it a go and read it. AWESOME!
