I liked the idea behind Project Exorcism. Humans have
figured out that there are paranormal beings among them on Earth. In an effort
to keep the gene pool clean and strictly human, the humans begin the witch hunt
which will eventually lead to putting them onboard a space craft bound for a distant
yet hospitable planet. As far as Earth knows, four of the five ships crashed
and its occupants perished.
Lorelei Janelle calls home one of the planets that got a Paranormal Payload a hundred and fifty
years ago. The natives have made many safe guards to see themselves safe. The
people of her home planet are forced to live in fear due to a tyrannical
vampire sorcerer. They hope the legend that speaks of their savior warriors
falling from the sky to come true, soon. She knows it would be a dream come
true.
Captain Sevan Vasil has been having very erotic dreams for
the past six months, of a woman he knows to be his mate, but he also knows he
has never seen her before. When his well maintenance and moderately new ship starts
falling apart and in immediate need of repairs he must dock at the first
available port. There he stumbles into the woman of his dreams.
Paranormal Payload
had a pleasantly unexpected mix of futuristic sci fi and paranormal, with a
small side of erotic romance. The ending fight scene left me with a few
questions. It wrapped up too quickly and neatly and I was left wanting more. I
will read more of the Project Exorcism series. I am curious about how the
legend that revolves around the Janelle family will play out. I also enjoyed
the storyline of how Earth has shipped off and LOST numerous paranormal beings
that they felt were too evil for Earth.
