This is such a great series. Love-Bots stands apart from many of the other paranormal romances out there because of the characters. They’re steins, reanimated dead humans. They are being exploited and abused by humans. Their programming inhibits them from making their own choices. Stein Frank King of Zombie Underground has made it his mission in life to free them, reprogram them and attempt to give them a normal life.

Kuriko is one of the many steins he has saved and freed. She was being used as a prostitute by her makers. Part of her programming has made it so that she never remembers any of her sexual experiences. It is a curse and a blessing. She never has to remember the horrors of her past, but when her reprogramming glitches she defaults back to prostitute mode and turns to the streets and looks for paid sex.

Being the head honcho of ZU Frank often appears to his collogues of freed steins as an over bearing father like figure. He truly believes that he is just looking out for the best interests of his fellow steins. He only wants what is best for them. He has always had feelings for Kuri, but never acted on them. While trying to protect her during one of her programming glitches a door is opened that he can’t turn his back on. He just never imagined that his sexual healing would be sexually damaging to Kuri in the form of her getting all of her sexual memories dumped on her at one time.

Kuri and Frank both have heartbreaking pasts. She’s been used and abused as a sex toy in the form of a prostitute. Her faulty programming with her sexual memories makes for some very awkward mornings. Frank was built in the early days of steining. He’s a patchwork of multicolored parts and scarred everywhere. He tries to stay behind the scenes and does his best to make sure lifers (humans) never see him.

I liked their love story. They have many hurdles to overcome for their relationship to actually work. They both need to make some changes for it work. I loved where they ended up. The epilogue was a total shocker! As with each book in the series they all work as a stand-alone and can be read in any order. Daisy always brings some amazingly smutty good sex scenes to her books and there was no disappointment in the heat that Kuri and Frank bring to the book.
