“Let’s get started. And sorry, but I picked up some strays on my way here.” [Dex jerks his thumb over his shoulder, where a colorful group of individuals has gathered. It’s his teammates from the Para-Ops team.]
What song best depicts your life? What’s your very own theme song?
“Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.”
Caleb O’Flare nudges Wraith. “Surprise, surprise.”
Wraith snorts. “Yeah, real original, Hunt.”
“It’s a great song. Perfect for him,” Lucy protests. She sings the opening lyrics.
Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way
Its 5:00 Friday, you’ve just been told that the Para-Ops team does not have any pending missions and Mahone has just told the entire team to enjoy the next 3 days off. Where you going and what are you going to do when you get there?
“This is an eighteen and over blog, right? Look, with three days off, I’m going to ride my bike someplace new, and drink, smoke and fuck. But only after I get some intel to further my main goal—revenge.”
[He glares at his team from over his shoulder.] “What? No comment?”
Felicia shrugs. “All true.”
What are three things that you must take with you into the field when you are on a mission with Para-Ops?
“My hunting knife, a pack of smokes, and my balls. Wait, that’s four…” [Hunt grins here.]
Knox and Caleb laugh, Felicia and Lucy groan, and Wraith rolls her eyes.
How do you feel about working with a team that consists of such a diverse group of Otherborn?
“It’s kept things interesting. And we haven’t killed each other…yet.”
“Only because I took it easy on you that first day,” Knox piped up.
[Dex shakes his head.] “Ignore him. He’s delusional. Just like when he thought Felicia would babysit his kids at the Dome and be waiting in bed for him when he came home from a mission.”
“It was a good plan,” Knox begins and actually takes a step forward.
Felicia pats his shoulder. “He’s right.”
Knox stops, takes her hand and kisses it.
What do you feel is the best skill that you bring to the Para-Ops team?
“Some freaking sense. Knox and O’Flare are distracted by their attraction to Felicia and Wraith. A guy can’t be at his best when he’s weighed down by thoughts of a woman.”
(Note by author: Famous last words, Hunt.)
Felicia nods. “I’m so looking forward to his story.”
“Me, too,” Wraith says.
[Dex frowns and looks slightly worried.]
When you shift is it a smooth transition or is it painful?
“You tell me. Wraith said she never wanted to see it again and she’s no delicate flower.”
Wraith shudders and Caleb puts his arms around her.
You’re known as one of the best marksmen in the nation. How did you acquire this skill?
“You make it sound like it was choice. I do what I need to survive. I learned to shoot when I was still at the were orphanage that my dear-old-grandpa stuck me in. Bottom line, two people and a gun? You better get hold of it and know how to use it.”
The team makes sounds of agreement.
You’re also very skilled in Karakai, how old were you when you started learning this unique form of martial arts?
“I’ve always been able to move.”
Caleb bursts out laughing. Lucy blushes when Wraith nudges her with an elbow.
Did you fight in the 2nd Civil War? If so was it with a branch of the military and what role did you have?
“I fought. I wasn’t in the military. My motorcycle gang, the Ferals, found plenty of action to keep me busy.”
“Yeah, but we’re way more fun, aren’t we,” Felicia asks silkily.
[Hunt just smiles, though he keeps his face averted so she can’t see.]
What are five things in your fridge?
[Hunt opens his mouth, but before he can answer, his team pipes up.]
[Dex shrugs.] “Next?”
What are three of your guilty pleasures?
“Guilt is a pointless emotion. I like my life free of complications and free of guilt. I do what I want, when I want.
This usually includes baiting Red (Felicia), pissing off Mahone, and fucking (I have a particular weakness for vamps).”
(Note by author: I know all your weaknesses, Hunt, and I’ve got the perfect girl in mind for you!)
Who is your hero, book or movie, fictitious or real?
“Ah, I was sure he was going to say me,” Knox states.
“Are you kidding, I’m his hero,” Caleb drawls. “He’s just too embarrassed to admit it.”
Hunt flips them the bird.
What is one quality you look for in a female?
There is a tense moment of silence, then Felicia says, “Wait for it…”
“Bangability – she has to be hot, biddable, and uncomplicated.”
(Note by author: Like I said, the perfect girl, Hunt.)
Hunt stands. “I’ll get these bozos out of your hair now. But thanks for having me, Nessa. And by the way, you’ve got great taste in cars.”
I get to share a sneak peak at Dex's book cover. Look at all that awesomeness! A release date has not been set, but I know we're all hoping SOON!

Blurb of Chosen By Fate:
There's a fine line between life and death, pleasure and pain....
Five years after the Second Civil War ends, humans and Otherborn— humanlike creatures with superhuman DNA—still struggle for peace. To ensure the continued rights of both, the FBI forms a Para-Ops team with a unique set of skills.
Although he keeps company with a vampire and a were, human Shaman Caleb O’Flare can hold his own. But neither his psychic ability nor his healing powers can help his sexy-as-hell teammate, Wraith—a ghost with no memory of her human existence, one who cannot experience touch without pain.
No wraith has managed to exist past its tenth year, so Wraith’s time is about to run out. She wants only two things before accepting her fate: to learn her human identity and experience one night with Caleb. Willing to risk any amount of pain, Wraith propositions him. But when a sign of impending death appears on his chest, Wraith sacrifices her own needs on the chance that sex with her could kill him.
Caleb doesn’t understand Wraith’s change of heart but refuses to let her push him away. As the team travels to Los Angeles to investigate a series of crimes in the feline community, Caleb sets out to prove to Wraith that pleasure and love are worth any risk, including death.
