I have to say this novella
surprised me. I don’t like historicals. I stay away from historicals as much as
I possibly can. This novella is set in 1850 London. The date is the only aspect
that is historical, although I guess the mention of a carriage as
transportation could be seen as another. I enjoyed this short story. Brandon is
a very lonely vampire. He wants to sire a forever companion. After aiding a
damsel in distress one night he finds exactly what he has been looking for.
Arden is happy to not be living on the streets any longer. As each day goes by
in the home of her new employer she finds herself more and more drawn to him.
This is
a very sweet tale. Brandon is not your typical chest pounding alpha male. He is
sweet. He is never demanding of Arden. He waits for her to realize the
attraction and for her to come to him. Sometimes he even gives off a vibe that
he is shy. I liked this novella and look forward to reading more from this
author.
Read it, enjoyed it Vanessa and really looking forward to more reading of Gabrielle's novellas and or books in the future...
