See the guy on the front cover of this book. That's Conall with his hand in his head wondering what the Hell he has gotten himself into with this crazy woman. Book 2 picks up 6 months after Pack Challenge. Zach and Sara have moved on and into their alpha house. The majority of the pack lives there with them, including the uber sexy Viking wolf Conall. Miki has decided that on her way to her college campus to acquire her doctrine to stop by for a visit. After an attack while out at a club Conall decides to stay with Miki to protect her while she is on her trip. No one ever wants a babysitter thus the lust filled antics begin.

The readers get to meet a new side of Miki. She is so much more than the violent little gun toting, bartending psychopath that we were previously introduced to in Pack Challenge. She’s smart. She has a mega I.Q., photographic memory, and has some major computer hacking skills. I loved Conall, he worked the teddy bear “image” so well. He is so supportive of Miki. She soon discovers that he really does understand her. I am really liking this series. It has a great mix of humor, snark, action, and the heavily sexed up erotic mix works and flows well. I love the dog references too. They’re WOLVES, the dog references add so much humor. At one point Conall even contemplates humping Miki’s leg.

The book did start out poorly for me. I HATED the way Miki was treating Conall. She has wanted him in her bed since the beginning of the first book. He has chased and shown plenty of interest. Yet here she starts doing the cruelest and most childish things to him I couldn’t help but wonder why he could possibly want her in his bed, much less his life. Another aspect that took away from this book having a 5 star rating was the lack of closure on the two fight conflicts. The reason for the why of the hyena attacks was never mentioned. They had stalked Miki and her two closest friends. Why? It was never answered. Conall’s family problems were mentioned, but as to why they showed up at the club in full attack mode, not so much.
