Series: The Fallen Angels #2.
This is a 5 star 5 flame read. The attraction, the pursuit, the lust, the desire, the sex…. It is all hot! I love this series. I love this author. The characters are so easy to love. The depth that Ward gives them and the world they exist in is absolutely amazing. Jim, Adrian & Eddie are back, still way too deep in the twisted game with Devina. This installment in the series takes place in Boston with an entirely new group of people. We get some answers we were left with at the end of Covet….. Who was the blonde virgin sacrifice of Devina’s and what she did with her evening with Adrian (EWWW.) The readers also get to learn some interesting things about Devina and where she seeks help for her issues is just too funny. It almost makes the reader feels sorry for her…. Almost.
The story itself involves Isaac Rothe, a black ops soldier who has a past with Jim. When the book finds Isaac he is cage fighting for money and running from his past. He realizes that he went to work for the wrong people and he wants out. The people he no longer wishes to work for have sent assassins after him.  Isaac finds himself in jail for the cage fighting with a public defender that he finds himself instantly attracted to. Grier Childe (the public defender) feels the same attraction along with the need to help him get out of the trouble he is in.  Grier has her own troubles and a deceased brother that talks to her regularly. As we get deeper and deeper into the book we find that Isaac’s former employer (can we call him that?) will stop at nothing and risk hurting anyone to get to Isaac.
The conflict is this book is DEEP. By the time the reader reaches the end of this book and it is figured out who Jim and his fellow angels are trying to save, it is truly shocking that all of these characters were tied together the way they are.
