Review: Deliberately Brazen by Rita Sawyer

ebook
Published 2011 by Siren Publishing
ISBN 1619260174
Source: Purchased for self
Genre: Romance
Series: Brazen Sisters, book #5
Best read in order: yes, if you want to know how the other couples in the book became couples
Stars: 4
Flames: 4

Another fun Brazen book. It was Georgia’s turn at finding love this time around. I really liked the guy she found, and find him she did. One morning while she was helping a friend train his tracking dogs she finds tall, strong and handsome in the wood she is running around in. Not one to just let an opportunity pass her by she takes the time to introduce herself to one of the newer men working at her family lodge.

Tyler was an interesting male to read for this series. He brought a little baggage to the table. His baggage that he was determined to keep secret has kept him from allowing anyone to get close to him. I liked how the Brazen women handled him and his baggage. Georgie was a good match for Tyler.

Thus far I have enjoyed how each of the Brazen women handled the interestingly different trails that their man has brought to them. These sisters can handle anything (any man) thrown at them with an efficiency that only they could handle in the manner in which they do. I can’t wait for the next book. Sawyer has done a hefty amount of build up for Bobbie’s book. All five books have shown Bobbie and Jake’s tension coming to an explosive point.

Josephine Brazen has her hands full with her newest client. Cameron Elwood has found himself in a bit of a financial mess. He is hoping that the highly recommended accountant can fix his mess. He gets more than he bargained for when he discovers that one mess is going to get him into another mess.

I liked the opposites attract element of Uncommonly Brazen. Cameron’s desire to get Joey to loosen up is whole heartedly genuine. He just wants to make a tiny mess in all of that organization. Joey is a bit of a control freak. She has gotten used to things going her way. When Cam doesn’t agree to her rules and allow her to remain in control it adds some much needed disorder to her perfectly organized world. Cam and Joey was a very fun couple to read.

I love the easy going happy romance that I have found in this series. The couples worrying about small town gossip and how their families are going to react to the relationship are very realistic. The sisters sticking together the way they do throughout the series is so very warm and loving.

Rita Sawyer Author Interview & Giveaway!

Let's all give the wonderful Rita Sawyer a great big Diva welcome. Also thanks again for stopping by today!

Would you like to start off by telling us a little bit about yourself? Well I love to laugh, read, and cook. I have three kids. My husband and I have been married for more than half my life to a wonderful guy.

What is one thing about you that your readers would find surprising or never guess about you? I used to be a lunch lady for the public school system here in Massachusetts.

Can you share anything interesting about a current work in progress, perhaps an exciting teaser? Right now I’m working To Protect The Heart Of A Brazen Woman, book 6 in the Brazen Sister Series.  All I can say is Bobbie and Jake have been dancing around each other long enough, but Bobbie isn’t about to make things easy for Jake.

If you were to write yourself into one of your books which would it be, what role would you pick and why? I think I’d like to be Bobbie from my Brazen Sister Series. She smart, funny, and knows how to keep a secret when it’s worth it.

If you could have a romantic dinner with one of your heroes which one would it be and why? I think it would be Tyler. I have a thing for the strong silent type.

How do you spend your down time between edits, deadlines, writing and creating new and fascinating books? Do have a favorite pastime to fill you spare time with? When I have the time I love watching movies. Classic old movies like Yours, Mine, and Ours or new flicks like The Wedding Date.

How did you celebrate the publishing of your first book? My husband took the whole family out for Chinese food.

What have you read and loved recently? Lydia Dare’s werewolves and vampires series were full of amazingly rich characters.

The Brazen sisters have a wonder and very close bond. Was there anything in your life that reflected into this? Do you have siblings? I come from a big family. There are seven of us kids, 5 girls and 2 boys. So I drew on some of the emotions and experience I have there.

I’ve noticed that the very handsome Mitchell fellas seem to be making more and more appearances in your Brazen books. Are you thinking about giving them their own series? Isn’t it strange? When the first Mitchell, Oliver popped in I was like hmm… he gave it a little flair. Then when Kyle appeared it was more of a slap upside my head. Now they all seem to be waiting not so patiently to have their stories told.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you at two different book conventions. What are your 2012 convention plans? Where can fans stalk you? For 2012 I’ll definitely be attending RomFest. While there I’ll be sponsoring a Naughty Bingo party with fellow author Adele Quinn.  Anyone looking to find out more about me or my books can stop by www.RitaSawyer.com. And if they want to hear my random thoughts I’m on Facebook and Twitter @ritasawyer.

Rita has been kind enough to offer a lucky reader an eBook of a new anthology of romantic comdies that one of her publishers has bundled, Being Naughty Can be Fun. Just comment below with email address for your chance to win. I will announce the winner Sunday January 8!

And since I had the eureka moment of figuring out how to linky the pics you can click on any pic and be taken to that books goodreads.com page to find out all the detail about the book!

Review: Stroking a Brazen Lust by Rita Sawyer

Paperback, 178 pages
Published November 19th 2010 by Siren Publishing
ISBN 13: 9781606012574
Source: Purchased for self
Genre: Romance
Series: Brazen Sisters, book #3
Best read in order: Yes
Stars: 4
Flames: 3

The tension stays high the entire book with this installment of the Brazen Sisters series. Between small town scandalous gossip and a ginormous misunderstanding the tension in the Brazen household is at an all-time high. The six sassy sister’s deal with the conflict in the only manner they know how to by sticking to each other’s sides and looking out for one another’s best interest.

Hal’s little yearly getaway (disguised as work) got him more than he ever bargained for. Not only does he find himself falling in deeper with Frankie, he seems to find himself getting in deeper with the entire Brazen family, especially when his family is added to the mix.

I saw it coming. I knew something was going to happen with a particular character. When it finally happened it was in a completely different situation than what I had expected. Stroking a Brazen Lust is high on the sexual tension in all the right ways. The mega misunderstanding tension makes this book impossible to put down once you’ve started reading it.

Review: To Unleash a Brazen Desire by Rita Sawyer

Paperback, 176 pages
Published May 17th 2010 by Siren Publishing
ISBN 13: 9781606017166
Source: Purchased for self
Genre: Romance
Series: Brazen Sisters, Book #2
Best read in order: Yes
Stars: 4

The Brazen Sister series is such a fun read. The sisters each have their own lives and very distant individual personalities. As a whole their family unit has a tight bond, a bond that is so strong the reader really gets to feel that unification. I like the sisterly love and protectiveness they have for each other.

Samantha and her athletic abilities of running from all things Trent and Trent’s consistent feelings bumbling had me completely absorbed into the pages of To Unleash a Brazen Desire. I had to find out how these two could come to meet on common ground with their interesting relationship. It was
perfect. I love how it all unfolded in the end!

I recommend reading A Brazen Love Worth Fighting For before Sam and Trent’s tale. It is in the pages of that book that you find out how these two meet and ended up in the predicament that has Trent bumbling his feelings and Sam a complete emotion disaster.

This is a very enjoyable book that revolves around six extremely close sisters. These women are very independent and would do anything to see that they remain a close knit thriving family. Jessica, the oldest of the Brazen women in an impulsive act got married. Her husbands job took him to another country for three years, without her. Jessica had to stay with her sisters. She’s the backbone of the family and she has to see that the younger sisters are raised properly. Jessica and her sisters have a family business to run. It takes all six women doing their own part to see that they prosper. Jessica doesn’t see where there is any room for a husband in this and writes Victor asking for a divorce.

Victor is back home from the job that took him away for three years and is ready to work things out with the wife that he is very much still in love with. He knows there is more to the divorce demand than Jessica is telling him. He’s decided to do anything and everything possible to prove to Jessica that he still loves her, still wants her, and will never leave her again. The only problem is she is hiding something and won’t let him in. These two are very persistent in trying to get what they want. Jessica wants the divorce papers signed and Victor on the road out of town NOW! Victor wants his wife to give up on these ridiculous divorce notions and start confiding in him so that he can perform his role as a husband and start taking care of her.

These sisters are great. I really felt a tight sisterly bond between them. They sacrifice so much to see that each are happy. They’ve been taking care of each other for so long that they have difficulties letting anyone in. I will definitely continue this series. I’m looking forward to Bobbie’s book. If she is giving Jake this much hell this early in the series I can only imagine what their book will be.
